Why This Work Matters, And Why It Can’t Wait

Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies are transforming the world faster than any generation has ever experienced. Industries we rely on every day, from healthcare to education, finance, transportation, and energy, are being rebuilt by algorithms, automation, and data. These sectors determine how we work, learn, communicate, stay healthy, and move through the world.

Yet the voices shaping this future still don’t reflect the world we live in.

Women make up only 22% of AI professionals and hold less than 10% of leadership roles in technology. Most girls lose interest in STEM long before high school ends, not because of ability, but because they have little exposure, limited mentorship, and almost no access to the emerging fields that will define the next decade.

This means the technologies influencing our healthcare decisions, educational opportunities, financial systems, jobs, and safety are being built without the perspectives, needs, and lived experiences of half the population.

And today, this problem reaches far beyond classrooms and career pipelines.
AI systems are already making decisions about:

• Who gets hired
• Whose college application is processed or prioritized
• Who is granted bail
• Which medical diagnosis a patient receives

When the teams designing these systems lack diverse voices, the technology they create carries those blind spots, repeating historical inequities at an unprecedented scale.

Potentia360 was founded to confront this reality. Our origin is rooted in a deeply personal moment, when a humanoid robot called NAO, failed to recognize our founder’s voice because its training data did not include the pitch range of women’s voices or the accents of global English speakers.
That “NAO moment” revealed a larger truth: if girls are not present in shaping the technologies that guide our lives, the future will not include them.

Without intervention, girls, especially those with no access to the opportunities and pathways we provide, will continue to be locked out of the innovation economy and excluded from the careers and leadership roles that will shape healthcare, education, finance, transportation, energy, and the future of work.

Potentia360 exists to ensure they are not left behind and to make sure the future is shaped by all of us.

Jada’s Story of Impact

Jada’s journey with Potentia360 began in 2023 with a simple decision, signing up for a one-week Tech and Leadership program as a curious sophomore. She had no idea that one week would unfold into a multi-year journey of growth, giveback, impact, and legacy. Today, as a high school senior at Central Magnet, she has been accepted into her college of choice on a full-ride scholarship, a milestone she credits in part to the real-world leadership experiences, visibility, and development she gained through Potentia360.
